Dear Friends,
The Texas A&M Club of Maryland is accepting donations to build Endowed Scholarships, sending Maryland students to college. Maryland has 1700+ alumni and 68 current students at Texas A&M. Known for their Veterinary Medical School, Mays Business College, and Engineering programs; Texas A&M develops leaders of character, dedicated to serving the greater good while instilling their core values (Read more, https://www.tamu.edu/about/coreValues.html )
In 2015 the Texas A&M Club of Maryland set a goal of giving students from Maryland the opportunity to earn a scholarship to attend Texas A&M University. We set the first goal at $25,000. As of February 1, 2017, we have reached that goal of a $25,000 endowment. However, we have only begun our journey to making higher education more attainable for the next generation of Aggies. Current out-of-state tuition and fees are $30,208, not including housing, food, and textbooks. The new goal the Club would like to reach is a $100,000 endowment so it will yield a $4,000 scholarship annually. This would allow a Maryland student to receive in-state tuition and fees, a cost savings of $20,178 for the student and their family.
Thank you to all who attended our events, donated silent auction items, bid on those silent auction items, those who gave direct donations, and the many volunteer hours to reach this first $25,000 goal.
Texas A&M Club of Maryland is raising money to send our Maryland kids to college.
Thank you again and Gig’Em,
